Smokey 7 Spice Apricot Bacon Wraps
INGREDIENTS
· 20 wooden toothpicks
· ¼ stick of Maple Hill 100% Grassfed Butter
· ¼ cup maple syrup
· 2 tbsp 7 spice (recipe below)
· 20 large, dried apricots
· 20 whole smoked almonds
· 10 pcs of smoked thick bacon, cut in half
· Sea salt
7 Spice:
· 1 tbsp allspice
· 1 tbsp coriander
· 1 tbsp cinnamon
· 1½ tsp white or black pepper
· 1½ tsp cloves
· 1½ tsp cumin
· 1½ tsp nutmeg
· Combine and store in a dry spice jar

PREPARATION
· Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
· Soak the toothpicks in a bowl of water for at least 20 mins.
· In a sauce pan over low to medium heat melt the butter and stir in the maple syrup and 7 spice mixture.
· Slice open an apricot, stuff it with a smoked almond.
· Wrap the apricot with half a bacon slice, secure it with a toothpick.
· Place the wrapped apricots on a parchment covered cookie sheet.
· Bake in the preheated oven until the bacon starts to brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven.
· Toss the bacon wraps in the butter 7 spice syrup. Place back on the cookie sheet. Broil on low until they are crispy and brown.
· Sprinkle with sea salt to taste.
· Serve warm or at room temperature.
